Zack joined the firm in 2013 having over three years “big four” experience, where he performed audits and quarterly reviews for public companies in the financial services and manufacturing industries. He also served on tax preparation engagements for large, consolidated companies. Since joining Smith Dukes, he has continued to serve businesses, while also developing an industry focus in not-for-profit and governmental accounting and auditing. Zack performs financial statement audits and Single Audits for multiple not-for-profit organizations, including those with HUD-assisted programs. Zack maintains continued professional education in accordance with all AICPA, Yellow Book, and HUD requirements. He also provides tax services to individuals, businesses, and not-for-profit organizations.
Zack received his Bachelor’s degree in 2008 from the University of Alabama and his Masters of Accountancy in 2009 from Vanderbilt University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants (ASCPA).
Zack is a member of Ashland Place United Methodist Church, where he serves as Treasurer and Finance Committee member, in addition to playing guitar for the Ascension service. He also serves as a board member and Vice President for The Joseph Project, a community food pantry. In the fall, Zack teaches Principles of Accounting as an adjunct faculty member for University of Mobile’s Adult & Professional Studies program.
