Lott came to Smith Dukes in October of 2015 after working several years with another local accounting firm. He works primarily in tax return preparation and tax planning for businesses, individuals, estates and trusts. Lott’s extensive business valuation work includes valuations for contractors, manufacturers, law firms, engineering firms, family limited partnerships, real estate holding companies, equipment rental companies and retail/wholesale nursery sales.
Lott is a graduate of the University of Alabama’s Manderson Graduate School of Business, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He is also a graduate of St. Paul’s Episcopal School.
Lott is professionally involved with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants (ASCPA), the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysis, and the Estate Planning Council of Mobile.
Lott’s hobbies include running, fishing , traveling, and reading. He is a member of Dauphin Way United Methodist Church. He serves as Treasurer for Camp Rap-a-Hope.
